Inspiration....

“Inspiration does not come like a bolt. Nor is it kinetic, energetic striving. It comes into us slowly and quietly all the time, though we must regularly and every day give it a little chance to start flowing, prime it with a little solitude and idleness.” – Brenda Ueland

Tiny drops make a mighty splash!!

I've been wanting to try this drip-drop photography for sometime. But the sheer thought of getting my patience tested put me off. But today, with absolutely zilch to do, I got myself determined to try my hand at this. So got the setup ready; a dripping faucet, and an utensil below to catch the drops. I knew it wasn’t going to be easy. Put the cam on Manual Exposure mode and in continuous firing mode and started clicking away. I must have easily taken around 50 shots, but they were all disappointing and the thought of giving up crept in. Just tried another round, and this time I had one good looking shot. Oh Boy!! Was I excited..??!! :)
Hope to keep improving on this. It needs oodles and oodles of patience. Practice makes perfect, indeed!!

"Foxes have holes and the birds of the air have lodging places, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head. ~Matt 8:20"

I was busy admiring and taking a few pot-shots of this beautiful scene, when a verse came to my mind.."Foxes have holes and the birds of the air have lodging places, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head." Come to think of it, I've taken pains to travel to places to catch sunrises and sunsets, but this thought had never occurred to me before! Later, spent some time on this portion (Matt 8:19-22), and by His mercies I was able to see an aspect of discipleship; the aspect of counting the cost to be a disciple. The Lord's paradoxical answer had me stumped. Both the men seemed eager to follow the Lord, but the Lord apparently looked at their hearts. In the Jewish teacher, the Lord found a hasty heart that never counted the cost of following Him. But then what really is counting the cost..?? Somehow couldn't get the answer to this until a week later. The answer was in Numbers 33. The Lord was with the Israelites as long as they had the heart to move forward. But when they began to settle down, the Lord gives them a warning.. (Numbers 33:55-56).
